New Dean of Academics
Caribbean Medical University recently added a new Assistant Dean of Academics to their growing list of faculty, administration and staff.
Dr. Rex Haberman spent more than 36 years practicing medicine in the US as an Otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat surgeon). He was recognized as a leader in his field and his many publications, including textbooks used for training other specialists, have helped to improve the art and science of medicine.
Dr. Haberman has retired from clinical practice but will be lending his expertise to the local specialists through Continuing Medical Education (CME) training and other activities.
Besides being a highly respected clinician, Dr. Haberman has also had a successful career as a professional musician, releasing several albums and performing concerts throughout the US while still maintaining his medical career. His insight into the connection between medicine and the humanities will be an asset to the students and the community.
Dr. Haberman will be bringing his remarkable expertise and experience to CMU as he works with the Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Ryan Jackson, and the other deans to adapt the medical curriculum based on the latest developments in medical education in the US, Europe and elsewhere to help Caribbean Medical University meet and exceed the international standards.
