    Default USMLE and Residency

I wanted to know what is the passing rate for the USMLE 1? What is the percentage of students that are able to have residency? Are students able to have their first residency choice?

Our current USMLE Step1 passing rate for first time takers is 59.4%. Residency is mostly based on students USMLE scores but all those who passed are eligible to have residency. FMG have always their first residency choice.

Mainly with these caribbean medical schools, they simply provide you a gateway for being eligible and taking the USMLE exams. It really come down to the individual to strive and work hard - and as you put it, you are what you think you are - you will only reach a certain potential that you yourself have made as the cap/limit.

To all of you in the medical-school boat, best of luck, wherever you are and whatever level you are at.
